Strategies involving the Career Exploration training include helping the participants develop and increase self-confidence by empowering them to identify their skills, talents, and abilities. By broadening their career exploration skills through interactive activities where they can identify career options within their interests. Through the training, topics such as different vocational training options, available training programs, including opportunities for Post-Secondary education will be discussed. These and other training opportunities prepare the participants to grow in their jobs and advocate for change in the workplace, a brief exposure to various work settings to view the type of work performed in their career choice. This leads to the introduction of the journey to transition services based on students’ goals in Post-Secondary education, employment, and independent living. A.S.I. Open Doors Pre-ETS Participants engage in self-determination and prepare to transfer their skills, identify their goals and create a plan of action.
