This training provides support in one-on-one and in a group setting to customers while teaching and leading them to become self-advocates with skills to ensure effective communication. The training includes knowing the strategies and steps needed to ensure the awareness of their rights, determination, and self-confidence. By providing them with the tools to request reasonable accommodations, customer responsibilities, identifying their strengths (to make decisions and set up goals), enhancing accessibility for participants to their service providers, understanding the interactive process to request accommodations, and advocating for themselves or others. By becoming vigorously involved in their new role as self-advocates respecting their individuality and right to make life choices with opportunities to “voice their choices.”
