Strategies involving Counseling on Post-Secondary Training include helping the participants choose a career that requires student exploration and planning. Students must connect the present to the future. They need to see how skills development and knowledge relate to future opportunities in Post-Secondary education settings and employment. The career decision-making process is essential in the early phases of Post-Secondary Education planning. These include understanding the wide range of career pathway options, labor market realities, and projections. The activities show the different vocational training options available to the participants (Technical School, Community College, and University) for Post-Secondary Education opportunities. These and other training opportunities prepare youth to grow in their jobs and advocate for change in the workplace. This leads to the introduction of the journey to transition services based on students’ goals in post-secondary education, employment, and independent living. Participants engage in self- determination and are motivated to get ready to determine goals and set up a plan.
